About Us

Betty Brickhouse

Betty Brickhouse has called Lynchburg home for 45 years. Originally she came to Lynchburg to attend Lynchburg College. She loved the area so much she decided to stay and raise her family here. She spent over a decade at a local non profit  dedicating her career to Medicare counseling, wellness programs, and community impact initiatives. She worked closely with seniors and caregivers to help them navigate Medicare, avoid costly mistakes, and improve their overall well-being.

Now, as an Independent Medicare Broker, her passion for helping people hasn't waned. She uses her expertise to guide individuals in choosing the right plans based on their unique healthcare needs and ensures they feel confident in their choice. Her mission is to simplify the process and provide clear, unbiased advice to ensure her clients get the best coverage possible.

Betty has been married to her husband, Tom, for nearly 40 years. They have two adult children, two adorable grandchildren, and one naughty golden retriever named Sophie.  In her spare time she enjoys painting, traveling and the idea of going for walks with Tom, Sophie and her grandchildren.

She has been helping people navigate Medicare for 15 years and would love to help you, too.

Mary Helen Brickhouse-Bryson

Mary Helen was born and raised in Lynchburg. Although she spent several years away for college and graduate school, she always knew she wanted to return and raise her family in her hometown. After earning her PhD in philosophy in 2019, she came back to teach Medical Ethics at the University of Lynchburg.

Through teaching medical ethics, Mary Helen saw just how challenging it can be for people outside the medical field to navigate the healthcare system. She believes that no one should be expected to make important healthcare decisions without, at the very least, understanding how their insurance works.

That insight led her to bring her passion for teaching to Medicare. Now she helps people break down their options, understand their coverage, and feel confident in their decisions. Whether someone is exploring Medicare for the first time or reviewing an existing plan, Mary Helen is committed to making the process clear and approachable.

Outside of work, Mary Helen enjoys running down Rivermont Avenue, baking, reading, and spending time with her husband, Devon, and their two energetic children.
